BIOGRAPHY ARTWORKS

The late Davood Koochaki was a master draughtsman of contemporary figuration. His son, a painter himself, brought his father’s monochrome silhouettes to the attention of the art community. On large pieces of paper, this former mechanic’s darkened, almost intuitive figures , soon emerged: speaking of the open and secretive society, of the veils and humour, of the families and isolation. Koochaki’s drawings received tremendous critical praise until his sudden death in 2020.
