BIOGRAPHY | ARTWORKS |
European emigre Mehrdad Rashidi was born in Northern Iran. His intimate hand-drawn essays speak of a personal longing and compulsion to communicate through line. Indeed, the artist’s impossible appetite for multiformat surfaces has transformed humble utilitarian sheets into an incredible oeuvre of forgotten faces, features and feelings. Rashidi was awarded the prestigious Grand Prix at the 16th Biennial of Naïve & Marginal Art in 2013.
